How much is the commission on a sale?

In San Miguel de Allende, most agencies charge 6% commission plus IVA (value added tax). With few exceptions, it is the seller who pays the real estate commissions.  

Once paid, the commission is usually split equally between the seller's agent/agency and the buyer's agent/agency.
